But the season is not finished yet. He knows that and so do his competitors. The gaps are becoming smaller and at Magny-Cours, on June 19th and 20th, they definitely intend to block him. On the occasion of this unique stage in France, we are pleased to welcome another young lady within our group : Cécilia Asquini, winner of the ‘Défi Kart Jeunes’ (for the 16-22 year olds). As a reminder, this operation also has the aim to detect and promote young talents. The winner gains an official selection day at Auto Sport Academy. For Cécilia, the test was transformed and her presence at Magny-Cours highlights the action set up by the FFSA throughout this public operation. Paddock wise, we are very happy to associate ourselves with Nicolas De Moura, one of our drivers, to highlight the Grégory Lemarchal Association against cystic fibrosis – association he supports. But before then, from May 18th to 21st, Auto Sport Academy welcomed the ’10-15 Programme’ kart men who came to complete their 2nd grouped training session – alongside them, there were also the listed kart men for representing France at the Academy Trophy of the CIK. At last but not least, the weekend before the Magny-Cours meeting, Auto Sport Academy will be getting ready to live the most beautiful endurance : the 24 Hour Le Mans Race. We will be by the sides of our partners to help them with the logistics but also in order to be by the side of our mechanics who will be helping out the Teams and their former drivers engaged in this mythic race! - Laurent Sénéchal, Directeur exécutif de l’Auto Sport Academy-
A third girl at Magny-Cours
On the occasion of the 3rd stage of the F4 Eurocup 1.6 taking place at Magny-Cours on June 19th and 20th, Cécilia Asquini will be entering the pit next to the 20 other drivers engaged this season. Winner of the « Défi Kart Jeunes », for the 16 to 22 year olds, she is able to benefit of a complete training within Auto Sport Academy. The young lady was present in Spa as spectator, the last race in date, in order for her to get used to the environment she will have to face for her very first start-off in this discipline.
Nicolas De Moura with the Grégory Lemarchal Association
On the occasion of the 3rd stage of the World Series by Renault on the Nevers Magny-Cours Circuit, Nicolas De Moura has decided to invite the Grégory Lemarchal Association that fights against cystic fibrosis and whose colors Nicolas is bearing within the F4 Eurocup 1.6. The visitors of the World Series by Renault will find a booth of the Association within the Renault Sport Village for further information but also for collecting funds.
The Regional Committees challenge
Apart from the classification of the F4 Eurocup 1.6, Auto Sport Academy also organises for the 3rd consecutive year the Auto Sport Academy Regional Committees Challenge in order to encourage them for their support towards young regional talents. The winner will allow its driver to win a test onboard a single-seater of superior category! After the meetings in Spain and in Belgium, it is the Centre Committee chaired by Marc Roy who is in the lead (Paul Lanchere / 98 pts - photo opposite) in front of the Paca Committee chaired by Alain Mahé and represented by Norman Nato who capitalises 70 points. On the temporary podium, we can find the Limousin Committee chaired by Jean-Michel Filloux and represented by Jean-Baptiste Lahaye (65 points.). The Corsican Committee chaired by Gilbert Dini and the Normandie Committee chaired by Dominique Lunel close the Top Five with respectively Franck Matelli (54 points) and Pierre Sancinéna (42 points).
First selection for 2011
On May 12th of this year, the future candidates for being part of the 2011 crew as drivers of the F4 Eurocup 1.6, were present in Le Mans for the very first selections organised by Auto Sport Academy. After the evaluation onboard a sedan followed by diverse physical tests, all were chosen to pass to the following phase: the selection onboard a single-seater before ending the day with a personal interview. In the end, only 3 candidates were selected among whom a German and a very young driver aged 14!
> The next selections will be held in Le Mans on October 1st 2010. In order to participate, only one condition: to be born between January 1st 1988 and December 31st 1996.
Everything’s fine!
On May 11th, Giada De Zen, Nicolas De Moura, Mathieu Jaminet, Paul-Loup Chatin, Alexandre Mantovani, Pierre Sancinéna, Stoffel Vandoorne, Tristan Papavoine, Franck Matelli and Valentin Simonet resumed their training and discovered the circuit of Magny-Cours where the 3rd meeting of the WSR will be competed. On this occasion, Cécilia Asquini joined them. In spite of disastrous weather, this day turned out to be fruitful for the trainees who were able to prepare themselves on this track layout. These private and additional training sessions are organised by Auto Sport Academy (together with the company ‘JYP Racing FF’) and more training days will soon be proposed so that the academicians can discover the other circuits, different from those of the 2010 calendar, which can be useful to prepare the continuation of their career.
We are filmed!
The Eolienne crew are presently preparing a documentary (4x52 min) for France 4 on Auto Sport Academy and were naturally present during the first meeting of the season to follow the first steps of the trainee drivers and mechanics. They were also by the sides of Johann Peyrani and Sébastien Garnier for their first day with Renault F1 but also during the individual interviews which took place mid-May for the candidates who wish to join next year’s training course for becoming 'competition mechanics'.
Before the meeting in Magny-Cours, they will be present at the 24 Hour Le Mans Race to follow the training course of the mechanics with the teams participating in this event. Furthermore, numerous drivers engaged in this mythic race this year were one day part of Auto Sport Academy. Thanks to them, it will be the opportunity to ask them what happens after Auto Sport Academy.
Paul-Loup Chatin in the WSK
Paul-Loup Chatin did a one-off race within the Euro WSK Series, in KF2, during the stage in Belgium scheduled between May 8th and 9th. The event gathered more than 70 European drivers per category. He ended 14th and first of the Frenchies!

2nd training course for the ’10-15 Programme’ drivers
Return to Le Mans for the drivers of the ’10-15 Programme’ who, from May 18th to 21st, participated in a training course organised by the FFSA on a high level basis, in collaboration with its training centre : Auto Sport Academy, all this within eyeshot distance of the TF1 cameras!
The news editorial staff of TF1 indeed wished to highlight the drivers of this programme, on the specific preparation from which they benefit and more generally on the entry policy to a higher level set up by the FFSA. The subject will be broadcasted at 8pm and presented by Laurence Ferrari. Connect yourselves on the channels’ website if you miss it.
During the first training course, the assets and weak points of each driver were identified. This is why during this second gathering, it was essential to step to a higher level and to make each driver progress by proposing an even more personalised program. Part of the schedule: driving with onboard audio and video devices with the advice of Arnaud Kozlinski, physical and mental preparation, English, media-training…
It was the first time for Gabriel Aubry who recently integrated this programme set up by the FFSA for the 2nd consecutive year and whose principal missions are: detecting young talents, training, support and supervision of the young French kart men. He therefore joined Paolo Besancenez, Valentin Naud, Rémy Deguffroy, Erwan Julé, Lucile Cypriano, Valentin Moineault and Florian Latorre.
Anthoine Hubert will be representing France at the Academy Trophy
Just like the 33 other National Sports associations, the French Federation of Motorsport will present one of its young members during the Academy Trophy of the 2010 CIK-FIA. Created this year by the International Committee of Go-kart, this competition, reserved for the 13 to 15 year olds, will begin end of July in Wackersdorf (Germany), then will make a stop in Alcaniz (Spain) before joining France for the ultimate match on the Val d'Argenton circuit, on October 3rd this year.
This is how, alongside the 2nd training course of the ’10-15 Programme’ drivers, the selections took place on May 18th and 19th to choose this driver. Physical tests, media training and sports evaluation onboard KF4 go-karts were in particular part of the programme and at the end of these two days, it is Anthoine Hubert who was chosen to represent France and as such, he will benefit from a programme of specific preparation set up by the FFSA and supervised by Auto Sport Academy before participating in the first event of the Trophy.
