In 2007, Eurosport broadcasted the Auto Sport Academy series. Directed by Philippe Chéreau and produced by Kawa Productions, this series of 7 episodes proposed to enter the world of motorsport whilst following and living the lives of the trainee drivers of the Academy. Then in 2009, a 52 minutes documentary entitled “The mechanics of victory” was produced by Laetitia Agostini. The date of broadcast of this brilliant documentary describing the lives of the trainee mechanics of Auto Sport Academy is not yet known but should be very shortly.
This year, both trainings will be highlighted! Small return in the past… In December 2009, France 4 broadcasted on prime time a documentary named “At the school of fighter pilots of the Naval Aviation” produced by Eolienne. Face to the success of the series, France 4 have decided to program a new series and, this time, Auto Sport Academy will be in the limelight! To be broadcasted end of December 2010 on France 4 on prime time, this documentary will be proposed in four series of 52 minutes that will speak at the same time of the adventure of the drivers of Auto Sport Academy but also that of the trainee mechanics.
In order to do this, the filming crew - with Bruno Sevaistre, Director - will be following, during eight months, some of the drivers throughout the season of the F4 Eurocup 1.6, covering competition meetings and training days, whilst also covering the training seminars and medical and physical tests. As far as the mechanics are concerned, in addition to the competition and the traditional lessons, the cameras will accompany them during the training courses they will be carrying out during their training period. Eight months to reveal the adventure of these youngsters along with their stories, joys, disappointments, funny and touching moments.
Broadcasted on France 4, free channel mainly aimed for audience aged 15/34, this series should correspond perfectly to the image of the channel: divert, create, discover and passion. Also, let’s not forget that with nearly 300 hours of major events broadcasted last year, France 4 is one of the biggest channels for the broadcasting of sports on digital TV! This documentary will therefore be a wonderful springboard for the Federal training centre and could, why not, create a few vocations...
